DGN 7255: Beverly James

Beverly is an RN with entrepreneurial acumen and opened her own home health care business because she wanted to meet patients in their own environment and help them to mitigate the many obstacles in our healthcare system. She retired 5 years ago after 30 years of fulfilling that dream. During these past 16 years she has been successful at marrying her passion for patient safety in healthcare with Rotary. She and a colleague as representatives of Pulse, Center for Patient Safety, Education and Advocacy a community based 501 3C, provided five step classes called “TakeCharge” to other Rotarians of all ages as a beginning to becoming more involved. Beverly recognizes how this initiative fits so well into one of Rotary’s area of focus and hopes to further expand the program in District 7255.
Ms. Bev is an active member of the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City, New York and has been a Board member of RotaCare, past member and president of her local school board. She is mother to Alisha, Eric and their spouses Donald and Dawn and is the proud grandmother of Arianna & Anaiya.
