DGE 7490: Scott Reddin
Scott Reddin has lived his whole life in Bergen County, growing up in Englewood Cliffs and has now lived in Englewood for over 30 years. He graduated from Dwight Morrow High School and attended Clark University where he majored in Biology. He received his Master's Degree in Administrative Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He was elected to the Englewood Cliffs Board of Education in 1984 at the age of 25. He served nine years as a Councilman in the City of Englewood, two of them as Council President. He was appointed as a member of the Englewood Board of Education in early 2022. He served over 25 years on the Board of Directors of the Center for Food Action and was President of the Organization for four years. He has served on the Board of Directors of Flat Rock Nature Center for 22 years. He is currently the Chair of the Englewood Access for All Committee. He was appointed by County Executive Tedesco to the Human Services Advisory Council and was Chair from 2018-2020. He was also appointed by Tedesco to serve on Bergen County Senior Advisory Council and is currently Chairman. He served on the Board of Bergen Family Center for over 20 years. He is the co-founder and long-time Chairman of the Dwight Morrow Educational Alliance. He is a long-time member of the Rotary Club and served as President. He currently serves on the Englewood Hospital Patient Advisory Council and has been a long-time Volunteer for Meals on Wheels.Scott has been recognized and honored by more than 20 non-profit agencies. He received the Russ Berrie Making a Difference Award, was honored by Bergen Volunteer Center, Center for Food Action, Bergen Family Center, Englewood Rotary Club, Bergen County Urban League and by the Bergen County Office of Disabilities “Salute to Champions.” He was named a “hometown hero” by Bergen Health and Life Magazine and named “Volunteer of the Week” by the Bergen Record. He also is Point of Light #2600. This honor is given to only one person per day in the United States.
